Curtis Borchardt(2.11-C) will be the new center of ASVEL Villeurbanne and the team has created a mini game on the front page of their official website to playfully announce the very important transfer for their upcoming Euroleague season. Borchardt has been the starting center of Granada for the last 4 seasons and during that time he has grown significantly as a player.
After graduating from Stanford University in 2002, he was selected 18th overall in the first round by the Orlando Magic in the 2002 NBA Draft but was traded to the Utah Jazz. He played for 2 seasons in Utah and was traded to Boston that he left for Granada. This season he has averaged 12.3 points 9.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 26 games of the ACB league.
Surprising deal for Villeurbane. Borchardt was in the transfer list for Real Madrid or Barcelona
