Cook arrives, Popovic leaves.

According to spanish and italian media the transfer of Omar Cook to Unicaja Malaga is almost certain. The american PG with the montenegran passport has become a very popular player in Europe having at least 2 italian teams fighting over him and Malaga winning him in the end. The best defender of the serbian league who also was the best player of Red Star will sign a 2-year contract with Malaga.

Cook will be replacing the serbian PG Bojan Popovic who did not impress the administration of the team this year nor did he have good relations with coach Scariolo during his stay in Malaga. Popovic averaged 4.7 points 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 34 games this year for Malaga in the ACB league.
