Besiktas signed Stanojevic
Besiktas ColaTurka continued its rebuilding effort for the new season with the addition of veteran center Jovo Stanojevic according to the Eurocup official site.
The center signed after the team added big man Mario Austin and point guard Mire Chatman. Stanojevic arrives from Prokom Trefl, which he helped win the Polish League championship last season.
Before that he spent five seasons with Alba Berlin, during which he won one German League championships, two German Cups and was named to the all-star team three times. He has also played for Vojvodina Novi Sad, Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade in his native Serbia, as well as for Maccabi Ironi Ra'anana in Israel. As a member of the Yugoslavian national team, Stanojevic won the bronze medal at the 1999 European Championship.
He averaged 9 points and 4.6 rebounds over 20 minutes per game in 10 Euroleague games and 10.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 18 minutes in the Polish League with Prokom.
