Houston signed James White for 10 days


Former Fenerbahce and San Antonio player James White(2.00-SG/SF) was hired by the Houston Rockets signing a 10-day contract.

The Houston Rockets today announced they have signed guard/forward James White to a 10-day contract. White becomes the 12th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2008-09 NBA Development League season, and the 130th overall since the league began play in 2001.

A 2009 NBA D-League All-Star and the NBA D-League Slam Dunk Champion in Phoenix, White has appeared in 34 games (33 starts) with the Arsenal, where he averaged a league-leading 25.9 points to go with 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 41.1 minutes while shooting 55 percent (291-of-530) from the field. Named NBA D-League Performer of the Week on Jan. 5, White has scored in double figures 33 times, including 11 games where he scored 30 or more points, while recording an NBA D-League season-high 47 points in a 117-113 loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Jan. 20, 2009.
