6'9' Serbian forward, Sasa Borovnjak (2.05-F) signed a National Letter of Intent to accept a basketball scholarship to Penn St., a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Belgrade native has been attending Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher, NC for the last two years of his high school career. This year, Borovnjak averaged 26.1 ppg and 12.1 rbpg in leading the Warriors to a 6th place national finish in the NACA Division I National High School Championships.
Borovnjak went for over 30 points 11 times this season including a 33 point 15 rebound performance against Oak Hill Academy who featured 6'11' Syracuse bound, Moussa Keita and 6'10' Oklahoma bound, Tiny Gallon. Borovnjak was one of three Veritas senior players who signed with NCAA Divison I schools. 6'10' center, Andrew Kyles will be attending the Citadel while 6'7' Colin Sekal will suit up for Wagner College. Borovnjak was also recruited by NC State, Marquette, College of Charleston, Wake Forest and several other top college programs.
