Hector Romero returns to Venezuela

PUERTO LA CRUZ - Marinos de Anzoátegui reached an agreement with Venezuelan forward Héctor “Pepito” Romero. After the agreement Romero will return play for Marinos in the 2009 season of Liga Profesional of Venezuela.

The player will undergo a physical exam to determine if he is capable to play. Romero missed his last three games in the Italian league with Snaidero Udine after a muscle tear. In the Italian League Romero averaged 13.8 points and 7 rebounds per game. He shot 54% from two point range.

Gianni Patino, who is the sports manager of Marinos, said that his date to report to the team will be announced later. "A lot of effort was put so Hector Romero could participate with us; we reached a deal, now we need to evaluate his recovery time from his injury in Italy and the date that he will report to the team."
