The turn to the worst that Bourousis' contract renewal negotiations have taken has made Olympiacos management to examine more solutions, just in case they can't reach a consensus with the Greek center who dominated the Euroleague in the past season.
The name of Erazem Lorbek has surfaced since last night as one of the possible, and main, solutions for the starting center position of next season Olympiacos.
Although the main candidate for Olympiacos' front line is Ksystof Lavrinovic, his transfer could be a tricky business as Motepaschi Siena is not famous for selling their top players, or not selling them cheap. And although Olympiacos has the biggest budget in Europe their presidents have decided to make cuts for the upcoming season and not offer huge and unrealistic contracts to anyone, so it would be rather a surprise if they paid any big buy outs this summer.
Olympiacos is trying to take advantage of the major budget cut that CSKA has suffered and is trying to lure some of their players to Piraeus. CSKA itself has declared that they will release or sell the majority of their non-Russian players, so the acquiring of Lorbek could be done smoothly and easily as this move is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
Lorbek had a very good first season with CSKA averaging about 12 points and 5 rebounds in both Euroleague and Russian League.
He is the third player of CSKA that Olympiacos has expressed interested in after Nikos Zisis and JR Holden.
