Unicaja made its first major move of the off-season by inking small forward
Georgios Printezis to a three-year deal.
Printezis (202, 24) arrives from
Olympiacos, where he averaged 8.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 20
Euroleague games last season. He scored a
Euroleague career-high 22 points against
Armani Jeans Milano in
Olympiacos's Top 16 opener. He averaged 12 points on 92.3% shooting (12 for 13) in two games against
Unicaja last season.
Printezis started his career with the
Asteras Ag. Dimitriou youth team, moved to
Olympiacos in the summer of 2000 and made his
Euroleague debut in the 2002-03 season. After three years of limited playing time,
Printezis was sent on loan to
Olimpia GE Larisa, where he had a breakout 2006-07 season, averaging 11.5 points and 4 rebounds in 24 Greek League games. Last season,
Printezis helped the Reds advance to the
Euroleague Final Four and reach the Greek League and the Greek Cup finals. He is also a member of the
Greek national team and played at the 2008
Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
