Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has signed Doron Perkins to one season with an option for an additional season. The guard, who played for Maccabi Haifa last season, was chosen MVP of the Winner League.
Last season, the 26 year old’s averages stood at 15.8 points per game, 5.6 assists and 5.6 rebounds during the regular season and 21.4 points, 9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game during the playoffs. Perkins came to Israel from Bree, in Belgium, where in the local league he had earned the names King of the Assists and King of the Steals, and counted among his teammates there Maccabi’s center D’or Fischer.
In addition, young Israeli point guard Gal Mekel will be playing for Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv this coming season. Mekel returns to Maccabi after an extremely successful year on loan to Gilboa/Galil. He will also be joining the National Team in the European Championships next month in Poland.
