Palacio and Partizan part ways

Partizan announced that playmaker Milt Palacio has been released from the team. The decision to terminate Palacio's contract was taken after the Euroleague American Tour game against the Denver Nuggets.

Palacio had not joined Partizan and the club decided to release him. Palacio was worth 12.5 points and 3.3 assists in 23 Euroleague games in the 2007-08 season. He was a key reason that the club shocked many by reaching the Euroleague Quarterfinal Playoffs, averaging 20.3 points in a three-game win streak in March that eliminated then-defending champion Panathinaikos. His performance earned Palacio Euroleague MVP honors for March. "Our agreement with Palacio was that he would join the team in Chicago, but he did not show up. Palacio called that he had health and legal problems," Partizan president Predrag Danilovic said. "He was asked to solve all this and in the end decided that that he wouldn't be in our team next season. We have to find two new players, one at the point guard position, and will do anything we can before the start of the Euroleague regular season."
