Malaga signed Shammond Williams

Malaga has reached an agreement with guard Shammond Williams on a temporary contract. Further details of the deal have not been released.

Williams (186, 34) arrives from Valencia Basket, where he spent the past two seasons. Last year he averaged 12.8 points on 48.9% three-point shooting and 3.6 assists over 12 Eurocup games with Valencia, helping the club reach the Final Eight. He comes to help Malaga at a time of injuries after the club lost forward Georgios Printezis for an extended period due to a shoulder injury.

Malaga will be his second Euroleague side after spending the 2005-06 season with Regal FC Barcelona, where he averaged 12.6 points and was third in the Euroleague with 4.3 assists per game, helping the team reach the Final Four in Prague. Williams has previously played for Atlanta, Seattle, Boston, Denver, New Orleans, Orlando and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, Ulker in Turkey, Unics Kazan in Russia and FC Barcelona and Valencia in Spain.
