Aris to sign Matt Walsh?

In a surprising twist of events Aris just announced that Matt Walsh is on his way to Thessaloniki to negotiate his contact with Aris.

One might think that Aris would sign someone for their front-line but instead they're negotiating with a small forward. Matt Walsh(2.00-SF) is no stranger to the Greek league having played for Olympia Larisa. He's also played for Charleroi in Belgium and this season he started playing for Union Olimpija in Slovenia. In the Euroleague he averaged 17.3 points 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 9 games.

This doesn't mean that the transfer is final but it only says that Walsh will be arriving in Thessaloniki today with his agent to negotiate the terms of his transfer from Union Olimpija. If the deal goes through it could be the end for Jeremy Richardson(2.01-SF).

  1. When I first read this title, I didn't know the player you were talking about, haha. He's Walsh, not Walls.

  2. Yeah sorry :)

I wrote it a bit hastily this morning but I did spell his name correctly within the article so that's not that bad!

Apparently the deal might not go down if Olimpija don't surrender his letter of clearance. Remains to be seen I guess..
