Besiktas is the team who managed to grab Marque Perry (186-G-81., college: St.Louis) for rest of the season.
The 29-year old point guard was targeted by Virtus Roma and Hemofarm Vrsac, but at the end he decided to join the Turkish outfit. As a reminder, Besiktas was looking for reinforcement after Mire Chatman was suspended for having failed an anti-doping test.
Marque Perry started this season with Ukrainian team BC Donetsk. However, the team went bankrupt in January and Perry became a free agent. He appeared 10 times in Ukrainian league averaging 15.7 points, 4 rebounds and 3.9 assists. In EuroChallenge he had 18.2 ppg for 6 games, and in EuroCup 22 ppg for two games. In VTB United League, he added 12.7 ppg, also for 6 appearances.
Before BC Donetsk, Marque Perry was a member of Triumph Lyubertsy and CSK VVS Samara. He already has experience from Turkey as a player of Banvit. That was on season 2006/07, when Perry had 16 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.7 apg for 31 games in TBL. In FIBA EuroCup he added 21.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 4.2 apg for 6 matches. In the past, Perry also played for Upea Capo D'Orlando and Olympiakos S.F.P. Pireus.
Besiktas currently has 13-6 score in TBL.
