Could Gary Forbes be the first transfer of this season for Aris?
Yesterday the Hoop announced via Twitter that there is information about players that played in the Israeli league that could be moving to Greece next season. There is interest in other players too but one of them is Gary Forbes.
Aris are interested in signing swingman Gary Forbes(1.98-SG/SF) that was one of the top scorers(in points per game) of the Israeli League last season. Forbes, who is originally from Panama, comes from Ironi Ramat Gan that didn't manage to stay in the Israeli League and got relegated to a lower division. This could be the big break for Forbes who didn't have much luck with the NBA Draft and the Summer Leagues although he did quite well in some of them. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2008 and since then he tried his luck in Italy, the Philippines and the NBDL.
He is on the top of the list of coach Sharon Drucker and if the deal goes through this will be the first transfer for Aris BC and the new season. Forbes also played for Cremona, before moving to Ironi Ramat Gan, where he averaged 13.3 points 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15 games. In Ironi Ramat Gan he averaged the impressive 20.3 points 8.7 rebounds and 4 assists in 9 games.
