Barcelona and Caja Laboral, also fighting for Spires

Top Spanish clubs battle it out for a Swedish prospect.

Regal FC Barcelona and Caja Laboral Vitoria will play the ACB finals. But their particular fight is also out of the court. Swedish prospect Nicholas Spires ('94), who was tested by the Catalan team some days ago, is in between both clubs. Both want to sign him. But Cajasol Sevilla (ACB) is also chasing him.

He is another great example of next generation of Swedish prospects. The forward, who is currently playing for Södertälje BK, was with swedish U-16 NT some days ago at the Nordic Cup. They lost the final against Iceland, and in five games the 2.07 prospect averaged 16.0 points (50% twos), 8.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
Some days ago we also announced the agreement of Suzuki Manresa (ACB) with Swedish Marcus Eriksson ('93) and Finnish Iikka Maki ('94). The nordic market is getting hot.
