He wants to stay and make up for a bad season.
According to sportnet.gr, Nikos Hatzivrettas(1.95-SG/SF) is likely to stay in Aris. The Greek veteran signed with Aris for 2 seasons last summer and has one more season in his contract. But things didn't really turn out as they should have. The other problem is his high contract that Aris cannot pay for the next season. Hatzivrettas is willing to negotiate a lower salary in order to help the team during the recession.
He will meet the new head coach of Aris tomorrow at the offices of Aris BC in order to discuss his contract for next season and his role in the team. Hatzivrettas is still the captain of Aris. He averaged 6.6 points 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 26 games for Aris in the Greek A1 league.
