Ian Vouyoukas is bitter about how Olympiakos treated him, and he's right about it.
Ian Vouyoukas(2.11-C) was one of the best centers of the Greek A1 league this season playing for Panellinios, on-loan from Olympiakos. Basketnet.gr, spoke to Vouyoukas who did admit that he wasn't given the opportunity by Olympiakos to show what he is worth. Vouyoukas signed a contract for 3 seasons with Olympiakos and 2 of them he played on-loan to another team. For the one season that he actually did play in Olympiakos his playing time was seriously reduced.
Vouyoukas did admit that there are negotiations with Maccabi Tel Aviv and he would be happy to play for them. This could be the big break for Vouyoukas that will allow him to participate in Euroleague level for next season. He said that coach Zouros believed in him and gave him the job of being the starting center for Panellinios. Vouyoukas didn't let him down helping his team to reach the Eurocup Final Four. He averaged 11.2 points 3.8 rebounds and 1 blocks in 18 games in the Eurocup and also 13.5 points 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in the A1 league.
