Real Madrid announced Sergio Rodriguez

Rodriguez lands in Madrid finally.

Sergio Rodriguez (12-07- 1986, Tenerife) is the latest addition to the Real Madrid basketball team after signing a deal for the next three seasons. The former New York Knick point guard brings speed, offensive prowess and passing and ball-handling skills to the table.

The 2006 World Champion has been one of Spain's brightest stars over the last decade and was the sixth Spaniard to play in the NBA after being the 27th pick in the 2006 Draft. The 6'3" point guard is known primarily for his speed, offensive prowess and passing and ball-handling skills. Although Rodriguez didn't put up great offensive numbers in the NBA, he has showed no signs of wear in that facet of his game and his techique from beyond the arc is flawless.

The 24-year old has spent the last four seasons in the NBA, the first three of which were with the Portland Trail Blazers (2006-2009). He was then traded to the Sacramento Kings (2009/10) followed by the New York Knicks (2009-20010), where he averaged 7.4 ppg, 3.4 apg and 1r.4 rpg in almost 20 mpg.
