Mims loaned to Antalya

Pinar Karsiyaka's scorer guard Ralph Mims (1.91-SG) was loaned to Antalya Buyuksehir Belediyespor who released Bernard King a while ago. Mims averaged 18.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 11 games for Karsiyaka.

Ex-Florida State star who is known for his great energy on both ends of the floor will play for Antalya until the season ends. Karsiyaka is in the market for another American as it's been rumoured that Izmir side will bring a 3/4 in a few days.

Lakovic back in January

Jaka Lakovic(1.86-PG/SG) will have to stay away from the courts for 2 more weeks at least, said the medical team of Barcelona. The slovenian combo-guard has already lost the last 3 games of Barcelona. They had to re-examine his leg due to recurrent pains that he was having and it was discovered that there was a hidden injury. It is small fissure on his fibula on his left leg and because of that Lakovic will return back to the basketball courts in January 2009.

Scavolini signed Mike Nardi

Scavolini signed american point Mike Nardi(1.86-PG). Nardi has an italian passport and so he doesn't occupy the position of an american player. He started the season in Air Avellino and now he has signed with Scavolini until the end of the season and was announced via their official site.

Nardi graduated from Villanova in 2006 and then moved on to Napoli and then to Montecatini. He didn't get much playing time in Avellino. In Montecatini in LegaA2 he averaged 11.8 points 3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 29 games.

Yango from Rieti to Trikalla?

Solsonica Rieti announced via their official site that they are releasing french forward/center Guillaume Yango (2.06-PF/C). The club and the player decided to mutually part ways and now Yango is a free agent and according to greek media he might be heading to the team of Trikalla 2000 next. Trikalla 2000 want to release Savo Djikanovic(2.12-C) and replace him with Yango.

Yango was part of the junior national teams for France and last season he played for Teramo in Italy averaging 7.2 points and 5 rebounds in 33 games.

Zadar waived Aca Petrovic

KK Zadar and coach Aleksandar Petrovic decided to mutually part ways after the defeat in Novi Sad. Petrovic upon meeting with the administration of the club decided to break his contract and now a new coach is currently being sought after. Rumours from the Adriatic League say that the main target of KK Zadar is Drazen Anzulovic who is currently the head coach of BC Charleroi and has coach Ural Great and Cibona in the past with success. Anzulovic is still under contract with the belgian team so that possibility doesn't seem like the likeliest to happen..

Oklahoma announced Nenad Krstic

The Oklahoma City Thunder made a bid to fill their void at center Monday by signing former New Jersey Nets center Nenad Krstic(2.13-C) to an offer sheet.

The Nets' 2002 first-round pick has been playing in Russia this season after receiving a qualifying offer from New Jersey. The Nets have seven days to match Oklahoma City's offer, or the 7-foot Serbian would be free to join the Thunder. Krstic averaged 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in four seasons with the Nets.

Krstic, the 24th overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Nets, averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 21 minutes per game in Russia in 7 games with BC Triumph.

Bosna signed Miljan Rakic

Bosna signed 22-year old prospect Miljan Rakic(1.95-SG) and he will be Bosna's latest addition with the blessings of coach Vukoicic. Rakic started the season playing for Hemofarm and later on moved to Masinac.

Vukoicic won the gold medal in 2006 in the U-20 European Championship with the U-20 National Team of Serbia and Rakic as one of his players. »It was Vukoicic's suggestion to sign the young Serbian guard,« said the Bosna director Admir Bukva.

The Lakers need Pargo

The news isn't good for the Los Angeles Lakers, who have been waiting to find out how long they'll be without injured point guard Jordan Farmar. Farmar was averaging 7.9 points per game off the bench before suffering a torn meniscus in a recent game against the Miami HEAT. The word is he'll miss up to eight weeks following surgery on the knee.

So now the Lakers are searching for a back-up point guard. Derek Fisher has logged 41 minutes in each of the team's last two outings, but that's a practice that will only lead to an injury to the veteran. Coach Phil Jackson has talked about the need for Sasha Vujacic to handle the ball more, but the results of that little experiment haven't been outstanding so far. The word is that the team is considering seeing what it would take to bring Tyronn Lue over from the Milwaukee Bucks, or perhaps reaching out to former New Orleans Hornets guard Jannero Pargo, currently playing in Moscow.

Of the two, the latter is by far the more appealing possiblity, though admittedly also the more difficult to pull off. Pargo was an invaluable contributor for the Hornets last season, helping them to by far the best season they've had as a franchise. He was a steady playmaker and good defender behind Chris Paul, and could help the Lakers on both ends of the floor.

It would be a complicated process, wading through the paperwork and expense of buying out Pargo's Russian contract, but it might also be an expense that lands the Lakers back in the NBA Finals.

BC Oostende announced Robert Hite

BC Oostende announced via their official website that they have decided to mutually part ways with Devin Green(2.01-SF) and to replace him with Robert Hite(1.88-SG/SF). Hite started the season as a player of Tau replacing the injured Pete Mickael.

Hite had a short pass through the magical world of the NBA playing briefly for New Jersey, Miami and Phoenix that released him during the pre-season. He graduated from the University of Miami in 2006 and didn't make it in the draft. He averaged 16.4 points 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 34 games in his last season. He also played for Galatasaray in Europe where he averaged 16 points 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15 games in the Uleb Cup. Hite didn't get much playing time having played only 2 games in the Euroleague and 2 games in the ACB and was subsequently released.

Greek players go on strike..

The Greek Pro basketball players central organisation(ΠΣΑΚ) announced today that all the Greek professional players will be going on strike from the 3rd of January indefinitely.

Estudiantes announced Corey Brewer

Corey Brewer(1.88-PG/SG) will be the player to replace Vonteego Cummings(1.91-PG). The rumors about Cummings' replacement go back to the beginning of December. Estudiantes announced via their official site the signing of Corey Brewer until the end of the season. Cummings never got along with the coaching staff of Estudiantes and now he will be possibly
replaced by Brewer that was released from ASK Riga, apparently due to the financial problems that Riga is having.

Brewer returns to Estudiantes after 4 years and Estudiantes find themselves exactly in the same spot they were last year, very close to the relegation zone. "It's very special for me to return to Estudiantes" - Brewer said during the signing of his contract, "and I hope to help as much as possible to improve the situation of the team, which for me is like my home." Today
he will have his first training session with the team. Brewer averaged 12.4 points 2.9 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 7 games in the latvian league.

Goettingen released Jason Miller

BG 74 Goettingen have parted company with Jason Miller (208-F/C). The 28-year-old center who joined the Violets coming from Jena Science School during the summer will return to the USA due to family reasons.

In the past weeks Miller only received very little playing time and didn't see any action in the most recent games against Bremerhaven and Noerdlingen. His final appearance on the Goettingen team was on December 13, when the Violets took on Tuebingen and edged past the Tigers 65:64. Miller scored a single point in 2:29 minutes on the hardwood in this game.
