The Jaaber Saga continues

The Jaaber Saga continues. One of the most controversial signings of this summer is yet to come to an end for any party. Ibrahim Jaaber seems to have signed a contract both with Panionios and Lottomatica Roma and although he decided to stay with Roma, Panionios wants compensation as they signed him first.

Dejan Bodiroga, GM of Roma, arrived in Athens today to meet with president Lianos of Panionios according to superbasket.gr. They didn't reach an agreement though and their talks will resume tomorrow. The greek team is still asking for the 400.000 dollars compensation and if nothing is agreed then the matter will be handed over to Fiba Europe. A similar incident was the case of Jumaine Jones that was disqualified for a year from playing basketball in Europe as he signed contracts with 2 different teams. Perhaps this case will have a similar fate.
