Partizan signed Bo McCalebb

A week before the 2009-10 Euroleague season gets underway, Partizan Belgrade is filling a vacant point guard spot with Lester "Bo" McCalebb, who will make his debut in Europe's top competition.

McCalebb (183, 24) spent last season in Turkey playing for Mersin Burykshehir. There he averaged 17.4 points, ranking 10th in the league, and 4.6 assists, ranking eighth, while leading Mersin to its first-ever playoff appearance. Previously, McCalebb played four seasons at the University of New Orleans, his hometown, becoming that school's and its conference's all-time leading scorer.

McCalebb joins Partizan a week after the team released former point guard Milt Palacio for failure to join the team on time. "He is serious player with strong ambition," Partizan coach Dusko Vujosevic said about McCalebb, whose debut is expected when Partizan hosts Unicaja next Thursday in their Group B opener.
