The only exclusive group leader in the Euroleague after four games has made a pair of roster moves during the one-week break before regular season Game 5. On Friday, Unicaja announced the signing of veteran forward Larry Lewis to a one-month contract.
If he sees action in a Euroleague game, Lewis, who turned 40 this week, will become the Euroleague's oldest active player, one year older than Damir Kaan Mrsic of Fenerbahce Ulker. Lewis, a 2.01-meter forward, was hired to cover the absence of Georgios Printezis, who is sidelined indefinitely with a shoulder injury.
Lewis played part of the 2003-04 season for Unicaja, his only previous year in the Euroleague. Also this week, Unicaja let go at the end of a temporary contract point guard Pooh Jeter, replacing him with a player from inside the club, 17-year-old point guard Rafael Freire, who shined for Unicaja's juniors at last year's Nike International Junior Tournament.
