Gabriel Hermann to sign with Estudiantes

Gabriel German(2.07-PF/C) will be the latest addition of Estudiantes according to solobasket.com. The spanish forward/center that was born in Venezuela has been playing for Malaga for the last 3 seasons and his next team will be Estudiantes.
German will be replacing Iker Iturbe(1.98-PF). He has played for Estudiantes before in seasons 2001-2003 and he has also played for Bilbao and Girona as well. He is more known for his ability to shoot behind the arc but his height allows him to cover both 4&5 positions in the front-line. German averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 24 games in the ACB with Malaga.

Hector Romero returns to Venezuela

PUERTO LA CRUZ - Marinos de Anzoátegui reached an agreement with Venezuelan forward Héctor “Pepito” Romero. After the agreement Romero will return play for Marinos in the 2009 season of Liga Profesional of Venezuela.
The player will undergo a physical exam to determine if he is capable to play. Romero missed his last three games in the Italian league with Snaidero Udine after a muscle tear. In the Italian League Romero averaged 13.8 points and 7 rebounds per game. He shot 54% from two point range.
Gianni Patino, who is the sports manager of Marinos, said that his date to report to the team will be announced later. "A lot of effort was put so Hector Romero could participate with us; we reached a deal, now we need to evaluate his recovery time from his injury in Italy and the date that he will report to the team."

Greivis Vasquez enters Draft without an agent

Maryland junior guard Greivis Vasquez(1.98-PG/SG) has officially declared for the NBA draft, the school announced Thursday. Vasquez doesn't plan to hire an agent, which gives him the option of returning to the Terps for his senior season. "It's a good opportunity for Greivis to test his marketability," coach Gary Williams said in a statement.
Vasquez averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 assists and 5.4 rebounds this past season and was named second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference. Vasquez will continue to attend classes during the spring semester. He has until June 15 to decide whether to withdraw his name from the draft.

Germaine Jackson to Udine

Snaidero Udine announced Germaine Jackson(1.95-SG/SF) via their official website, who signed a contract for next season with the italian team. Jackson has played in more teams that he can count..
He started college in Detroit where he played for 4 seasons. Then he tried to make a break into the NBA but he only managed to get away with half a season with the Atlanta Hakws. In Europe he played briefly for Aris Thessaloniki and then went off to play in Benetton Treviso, Pamesa Valencia, Azovmash, BC Kyiv and finally Leon in the ACB. In between he squeezed another half season with the Milwaukee Bucks. He also played for a while in Venezuela.
In his last season in Spain he averaged 9 points 2.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 15 games.

Hector Romero for Udine

According to italian site mondobasket.it Hector Romero is one of the main targets of Udine alongside Brandon Hunter. The venezuelan forward has played for numerous european teams including AEL 1964, Murcia, Scafati and lately Montepaschi Siena.
Last season he averaged 13 points and 6.9 rebounds in 10 games for Scafati and 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 6 games for Siena.
