PGE Turow Zgorzelec added two more significant pieces to the puzzle for the 2009-10 season by signing playmaker Jason Richards and veteran forward Konrad Wysocki. Richards (185, 23) is a pass-first point guard who made a name for himself at Davidson College, helping lead the small school to within a basket of the 2008 NCAA final four. He finished his four years at Davidson as the school’s all-time leader in assists. Richards led all of college basketball with 8.1 assists per game in addition to 12.7 points per game during his senior year, at the end of which he was named to the All-Southern Conference first team. Turow will be his first stop in Europe.
Wysocki (204, 27) arrives from German club Deutsche Bank Skyliners, where he averaged 6.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 33 regular season appearances last season. He has also played for BG 74 Gottingen, Erdgas Ehingen and Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany after a college basketball career at Princeton University. Wysocki was born in Poland, but represented the German national team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
