Jerebko and Magloire suspended for two games




Detroit Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko and Miami Heat center Jamaal Magloire have been suspended without pay for their roles in an altercation that took place during Monday night’s preseason game, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

Panathinaikos interested in Jerebko


Jonas Jerebko(2.04-SF/PF) seems to be a target of Panathinaikos according to greek portal prasinanea.gr. The assistant coach of Panathinaikos, Dimitris Itoudis, is currently in Las Vegas as part of the Detroit Pistons coaching staff. The article says that Itoudis is going to be watching the swedish prodigy closely and monitor his performance during the Las Vegas Summer League.

Originally an early entry candidate for the 2008 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration. Jerebko was selected in the 2009 Draft by the Detroit Pistons in the 2nd round with number 39 pick overall. He began his pro career playing with the Swedish League club BorĂ¥s Basket in the 2005-06 season and in the 2006-07 season he moved to the reigning Swedish champion team Plannja Basket, where he also won a Swedish championship. He then moved to the Italy and Angelico Biella in 2007. As a player of Biella last season he averaged 9.1 points 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 34 games in the LegaA1.

Maccabi announced Maciej Lampe


Maccabi Tel Aviv announced the signing of swedish/polish center Maciej Lampe(2.11-C) via their official website. Lampe signed a contract for the next season with the option for another season. He played for Real Madrid initially and then he was drafted at number 30 in 2003 by the New York Knicks but he was traded to Phoenix.

He spent a season in Phoenix and during the next season he was traded to New Orleans and also played a few games for Houston. In Europe he was signed initially by Dynamo St. Petersburg but the team went bust and so he moved to Khimki that he had played for the last 2 seasons. He averaged 10.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 games in the Russian Superleague.

Menorca interested in Damir Markota


According to solobasket.com Vive Menorca seems to be interested in croatian/swedish forward Damir Markota(2.09-PF). Markota was drafted in 2006 by San Antonio at number 59 in the 2nd roud. During the summer of 2006, the Bucks signed Markota to a multi-year contract after the Spurs traded his draft rights for the higher of the Bucks' two 2007 NBA Draft second-round picks.

Markota was playing for Spartak St. Petersburg and Zalgiris in the previous season when he averaged 10.5 points 5.3 revounds and 2.9 assists in 13 games for Spartak St Petersburg in the russian superleague.

This summer he signed with Cibona but due to bad relations with coach Perasovic he was kicked out of the team.
