Big Sofo is not going to Las Vegas

Sofoklis Schortsanitis(2.06-C) made a statement on his official website thanking the administration of Olympiakos for their help in the whole Las Vegas Summer League mixup. The greek center wanted to try his skills on the annual Las Vegas NBA Summer League but there was a problem. He is still bound by contract with Olympiakos and FIBA does not allow players bound by contract to participate.

Schortsanitis was invited by the LA Clippers that still hold his NBA rights but even though the administration of Olympiakos gave their consent, FIBA still banned him from taking part. Big Sofo thanked Olympiakos for their help and said that all he wanted was to try playing on a different level. He will yet have more opportunities to try his luck in the preparation stage of the National Team of Greece.
