As expected, Anzulovic did become the head coach of Lietuvos Rytas.
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius will hand the reins of the club over to Drazen Anzulovic after announcing the signing of the head coach. L. Rytas and Anzulovic and agreed to terms on a one-year deal with an option for the 2011-12 season. Former L. Rytas playmaker Roberts Stelmahers, who won the ULEB Cup with the club in 2005, was hired as an assistant coach too.
The 43-year-old Anzulovic has three years of Euroleague experience under his belt, all with Cibona Zagreb, with whom he reached the Top 16 in three successive seasons between 2003 and 2006. After a his playing career, Anzulovic began coaching in the Cibona youth system. His first head coaching gig was at KK Zagreb, from where he moved to Cibona and won three Croatian League titles. He later coached Ural Great in Russia and Spirou Charleroi in Belgium, winning the Belgian championship too. Last season Anzulovic coached Ukrainian side BC Donetsk until it folded due to financial reasons. He replaces Rimas Kurtinaitas at the club.
