After Khalid El-Amin’s season was declared to be over, Lietuvos Rytas’ searches for a new point guard began.
Reportedly, the search is over as the Lithuanian champions inked Sherron Collins , formerly from the Kansas Jayhawks, on Friday. The 23-year-old American point guard started the season with the Charlotte Bobcats and played 16 games in the NBA before moving to the D-League. Collins averaged only 1.1 points and 0.5 assists for the Bobcats, but the statistics, as could be expected, got a noticeable bump, when the guard moved the Maine Red Claws, where he collected 12 points and 3.2 assists per game.
At his time in the NCAA with the Jayhawks, Collins was averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 assists, with his best season being the 2008-09 campaign where the guard was scoring 19 points per game and dishing out an additional 5 assists.

This seems to be a promising acquisition and Lietuvos Rytas is therefore hoping that Collins can deliver, if not match El-Amin's role in the team. The only thing left for fans to hope for right now is that El-Amin's injury is not too serious and he can come back to the roster soon.
Hopefully his averages stay consistent, those are some decent averages and would be good for the team... Good Luck!
Sherron Collins! Pity he didn't find any minutes with the Bobcats, behind Augustin and Livingston. I like him. Tough player, very strong for his height.
