According to sportnet.gr, Dimitris Diamantidis(1.98-PG/SG/SF) will be offered a renewal of 2 more seasons by the administation of Panathinaikos very soon. The contract will give Diamantidis 2 million euros per season, that is on par with his current earnings.
This might seem hasty but there are numerous contracts expiring this summer in Panathinaikos and an early start on the most important player of the team will give them a good headstart on other negotiations too. Diamantidis didn't have a great season as he was plagued by injuries Nevertheless the fight for the title of the Greek League hasn't started yet so Diamantidis could make a "comeback" before the end of the season. He averaeged 9.4 points 2.9 rebounds 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 12 games in the Euroleague.
