Olympiakos agreed with Sloukas for 3 more seasons

Would've been a shame to lose him.

Turkish Airlines Euroleague champions Olympiacos BC is holding on to one of its young stars with the announcement Wednesday that combo guard Kostas Sloukas signed a new contract through the end of the 2014-15 season. Sloukas (1.90 meters, 22 years old) averaged 5.5 points on 55.6% three-point shooting and 87.5% free throw accuracy in 15 Euroleague games off the bench last season. He helped Olympiacos win both the Greek League and the Euroleague titles for the first time since 1997.

Sloukas showed great clutch play in the Top 16, hitting a 16-meter bomb from beyond midcourt to send a game against Galatasaray Medical Park into overtime and sinking the game-winning free throws in a pivotal road win against Anadolu Efes that paved the Reds' way to the playoffs. He previously played for Aris BSA 2003, as well as being a member of the Greek national team. He also won the Greek Cup title with Olympiacos in 2010 and has been very successful with Greece's youth teams. Sloukas helped Greece to win the gold medal at the 2008 U18 European Championships and the 2009 U20 European Championships.
