Haanpaa to Orlandina
The Upea Capo d'Orlando has reached an agreement with Samuel Haanpää, born in Kerava (Finland) September 27, 1986. The finnish forward decided to leave the NCAA and Valparaiso after 2 years to sign a 3-year contract with Orlandina.
After the playing with the youngsters of Kori Keravan in the lower league, the athlete was transferred to Urheilijat Vantaa and only at 18 years old was the 3rd best player of the Finnish league averaging 20.6 points and 8.5 rebounds. In 2006, decided to go and play for the college of Valparaiso, averaging 10 points and 3 rebounds in 25 games.
The highlight of the season were the 10 3-pointers he scored against Chicago State.
