Messina said no to Greece

Ettore Messina said no to Greece regarding their offer to take up the head coach position of the National Team of Greece. Georgios Vassilakopoulos, president of Fiba Europe said recently that the new head coach of Greece will be foreign so natuarally old rumors about Messina lit up again.

Ettore Messina recently spoke to the Goal newspaper in Greece saying that he is flattered by the offer to coach such a good team but he cannot do so for reasons he didn't want to discuss. This probably has to do with him becoming the head coach of Barcelona next summer. The search for the replacement of Giannakis continues for Greece and now the list is even shorter..
