Aris are suing Andrea Mazzon

It seems that Aris and Andrea Mazzon will settle their differences in court.

According to athlitikanea.gr, Aris and their former head coach Andrea Mazzon are in disagreement as to how much money is he going to receive as compensation. After the humiliating defeat against Maroussi in the Euroleague Qualifying rounds Andrea Mazzon was sacked from Aris and he was replaced by Fotis Katsikaris.

The Italian coach seems to be asking for 50% of his contract as compensation from Aris but they're only willing to pay him up to 30%. The article says that Andrea Mazzon is considering taking this matter up to FIBA in order to claim his entire contract.

The response from the official website of Aris was prompt. The team has produced an announcement which says that they will be taking Andrea Mazzon to court for falsely claiming a large percentage of his contract. According to the announcement the contract between Aris and Mazzon was mutually ended by both parties on Saturday 3/10 after the defeat to Maroussi and that Andrea Mazzon has no reason to claim salaries part the date of 31/10.

The administration of Aris say that they find it unprofessional that his lawyers advised him to claim this money and that they will be taking Andrea Mazzon to court and they will also seek compensation. It's worth noting here that Andrea Mazzon was paid an entire year's salaories when he was sacked from Fortitudo Bologna halfway through the season. Perhaps they ought to be more careful in Aris. More developments on this should follow in the weeks to come.
