Mazzon to hit the road?

Andrea Mazzon is not sitting very comfortably on the bench of Aris. Maroussi seem to be sealing the qualification to the next round where they will meet the winner of the game between Alba and LeMans in order to claim a ticket to this season's Euroleague. His replacement might have been already selected.

According to greekbball.blogspot.com, Fotis Katsikaris is the replacement for the bench of Aris. The Greek coach had been contacted 10 days ago to be on stand-by in case Aris does not manage to win Maroussi. He hasn't worked for another team since he left Valencia and was replaced by Neven SpahijaKatsikaris is regarded as a very good coach back in Greece and this might be the administration's attempt to appease the fans after the sale of Kostas Papanikolaou to Olympiakos.

The decision of the administration was made even easier by the really bad performance of Aris, during a game that was an early final. Maroussi on the other hand seem to be ready for the challenge putting to shame, their wealthier opponents. The article implies that Mazzon might not even get on the plane back..
