Crvena Zvezda added size over the weekend with the signing of center Dwayne Jones, who will make his second trip to Europe after a limited stay in Turkey at Efes Pilsen last year.
Jones (211, 26) arrives from the San Antonio Spurs’ training camp, where he made three appearances, including one against Euroleague side Olympiacos Piraeus in the Euroleague American Tour ’09. He previously played parts of four NBA seasons with Boston, Cleveland and Charlotte. The center first made a name for himself at St. Joseph's University, where he was the fifth-best rebounder (11.6 rpg.) and shot-blocker (3 bpg.) in the NCAA's first division at the end of the 2004-05 seasons. Last season he averaged 15.2 points on 59.4% field goal shooting, 11.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 34 NBDL games split among Iowa, Idaho and Austin.
