The 28-year old forward is already a familiar face in France, where he played in Pro A, as well as in Pro B. Last season, Sommerville started with Roanne averaging 15.1 ppg and 4.6 rpg for 7 games. He got injured in November and was sidelined two months. In March, Sommerville moved to Dexia Mons-Hainaut collecting 9.6 ppg and 3.9 rpg for 8 Belgian league games.
Season 2007/08, Marcellus Sommerville spent with STB Le Havre, also in Pro A. In 30 appearances he registered 14.1 ppg and 6 rpg.
