The first love dies hard.. in this case Zadar wants Marko Popovic back and he isn't entirely negative about that prospect.

Marko Popovic stated in an interview that Zadar is and always will be his favourite team and although his contract with Zalgiris Kaunas has finished he hasn't had any official negotiations with Zadar as of yet. The croatian star was loved by lithuanian fans but now the croatian champion Zadar wants to build a yet stronger roster for the next year as they will battle it out with Cibona in search of a 3-year contract with Euroleague.

According to Marko Popovic he wants to play in a euroleague team next year so that will weigh the scales in favor of the team that will seek him. He started his professional career in Zadar where he played from 1989 until 2003 and then he signed a contract with Valencia. He averaged 11.7 points and 2 assists in 20 games in this year's euroleague for Zalgiris.
