Malaga announced Joseph Gomis
Unicaja Malaga announced the acquisition of Joseph Gomis(1.80-PG) via their official website. The french point guard agreed to a 1+1 years contract with the team's option for 2nd year if they see fit.
The player needs to undergo a medical exam first and then the contract will be valid. Gomis was released by CB Valladolid as the spanish team was relegated to LEB Gold at the end of last season so they couldn't actually pay all of their player contracts. Malaga decided to sign the player after they discovered they will lose Berni Rodriguez for 3 months.
He had a great season with Valladolid but the team didn't manage to stay in the ACB, he was in fact the 2nd best scorer in the ACB during the regular season with 18 points per game right after the impressive Rudy Fernandez. He has been playing for Valladolid for the last 3 seasons and before that he played for Leche Rio Breogan for another 3 seasons. Before moving to Spain he played in Evreux for 6 seasons and Nancy for one season. He is also a member of the France National Team.
He averaged 18 points 1.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 34 games for Valladolid.
