Valencia to pull out of the ACB?

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the president of Valencia, Manuel Llorente, threatened to pull the team of the ACB. The reason behind this decision is the imminent formation of 13 permanent contracts in the Euroleague that Jordi Bertomeu is planning.

According to that plan, Tau, Real, Barcelona and Malaga will have the 4 permanent contracts. Llorente said that only if Valencia were to win the ACB league they would be allowed to play in the Euroleague.

"At the end there is only one place to the winner of the league and it is like a horse chasing a carrot that it'll never get," said Llorente who added that "if there are four or five places for the ACB because it is is a strong league the rest of the teams will be ignored. They want to make the ACB their training ground and that will now allow Valencia to make a strong team."
