Langford signs 2 season deal with Khimki

Shortly after the completion of the draw for the 2009-10 Euroleague regular season, BC Khimki Moscow Region announced the signing of shooting guard Keith Langford to a two-year deal. Langford (193, 25) arrives from Virtus Bologna, where he averaged 12.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 29 Italian League regular season games last season. He boosted his scoring average to 16.8 points in the playoffs and also helped Virtus to win the EuroChallenge title, scoring 21 points in the final against Cholet Basket.

Khimki will be Langford's first Euroleague club. He has previously played for Angelico Biella and Vanoli Soresina in Italy as well as the Austin and Fort Worth in the NBDL, Kansas in the USBL and San Antonio in the NBA. Langford first made a name for himself in the basketball world at the University of Kansas, where he played four seasons, reaching the NCAA final four in 2002 and making it to the title game in 2003.

"The procedure to bring Langford to our club was very long," Khimki general manager Victor Bychkov said. "There was a time when all of us were waiting for the official announcement. But it was necessary to settle all the details. Today we can say that the player signed a two-year contract. Langford is a good shooter and passer and I am sure he will help our team meet its goals."
