Virtus confirm Gailius' move to Italy

Deivydas Gailius had a break-out season this year in Siauliai and will pursue basketball heights abroad next season.

Massimo Faraoani, the General Manager of Virtus Bologna, confirmed that the team had signed a contract with the 22-year-old Lithuanian.

"We were targeting him since months. He can play two positions. It is a mid-term investment for us. He will need time to adapt to Italian Serie A but he will be an important player for us in a reasonable time," said Massimo Faraoni.

Gailius averaged 9,4 points and 4,6 rebounds in Eurocup for Siauliai. His statistics were by far the best in the Baltic League (BBL) where he had an average of 16,1 points, 3 rebounds and 2,1 assists. The player averaged 13,7 points and 3,1 boards in the domestic Lithuanian League (LKL).
