Maccabi released Limonad and Mekel
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv notified Raviv Limonad that he is not part of the team’s program for the coming season. Gal Mekel, who has been on loan to Gilboa/Galil, will also not be returning to Maccabi.
Raviv Limonad, who played for Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv for the last season and a half, was informed by management today (Wednesday) that they will not be picking up their option on his contract for the coming 2010 – 2011 season.
Limonad’s averages last season were 8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in an average of 18.4 minutes per game in the Winner League. He averaged 1.5 points in the Euroleague. Limonad, together with Maccabi, won the championship in 2008 – 2009 and the Israeli Cup in 2009 – 2010.
Also today, Maccabi Tel Aviv management informed Gal Mekel – who has been on loan to Gilboa/Galil for the last two seasons – that they will not exercise the option they have on him for next season and that he has been released from the club. Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv thanks both talented players and wishes them the best of luck in the future.
