Kaspars Berzins(2.13-PF/C) did move to Spain after all but not to Malaga as it was initially rumored but to Fuenlabrada. The spanish team announced the deal via their official website and it will be for 3 seasons. Head coach Luis Guil said that he is very happy to have Berzins in Fuenlabrada, as he is one of the best players in Europe in his age(23) and he can cover both forward and center positions.
Berzins played for Malaga back in season 2004-2005 and he's also a member of the Latvian National Team. After that season he returned to Latvia playing initially for ASK Riga and in 2006 moved on to Barons LMT that he has been playing until now. He led his team to the finals of the latvian league only to lose to Ventspils 4-3 in the play-offs.He averaged 10.2 points 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 16 games in the Baltic League and also 13.9 points 8.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 27 games in the Latvian League.
