According to sport5.co.il, Maccabi Tel Aviv are negotiating with David Blatt for the head coach position now that Pini Gershon stepped down as coach. Blatt has linked his name with some of the club's biggest titles and his Israeli heritage makes him the ideal candidate for a team like Maccabi.
There is of course the issue with Aris BC and the ongoing contract that Blatt has with them but in actual fact that is not really an issue. If Blatt wishes to break his contract with Aris, all he has to do is pay the buy-out clause of 300 euros by the 10th of June and the contract will be over. In Aris they are already looking for a new head coach and there have been some names like Yannis Sferopoulos and Yorgos Bartzokas but nothing is certain at the moment.
